Montessori's James Bond Gala to the Rescue of the National Recovery Fund

Chairman of Montessori's Parent's Guild, Mr. Phillip Ebanks and the school's administrator and part owner, Ms. Kourtni Jackson present a cheque to the National Recovery Fund's Executive Director, Dr. Mark Laskin. When the Parents Guild of Montessori by the Sea decided to hold a James Bond-themed fundraising benefit, they were intent on helping in Cayman's hurricane Ivan recovery effort.

The James Bond gala night, held on 20th May at Grand Old House, turned out to be a sold-out affair, with patrons lavishly dressed as Agent 007 or the attractive and evil characters from one of the many action movies featuring the sauve, gadget-laden character. So appealing was the event and theme that one couple in true "Bond" style even scuba dived up to the Grand Old House.

All for fun and all for a good cause, the evening's event, which included silent and live auctions, netted $3,500 for the National Recovery Fund.

Chairman of the school's Parents Guild, Mr. Phillip Ebanks noted that the event had been in the planning for some time after hurricane Ivan, and given the needs in the community as a result of the hurricane's devastation, it was natural to choose the Recovery Fund as the beneficiary.

Presenting the funds to the Recovery Fund's Executive Director recently, Montessori's administrator and part owner Ms. Kourtni Jackson stated that the school and its Parent Guild are planning an even bigger event next year to be held at the Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman.
